Melaka
After a thorough selection process, Kampung Morten and Pantai Peringgit were officially selected as key locations in Melaka.
Kampung Morten, a historic Malay village by the Melaka River near the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is culturally and economically significant. With traditional houses from the 1960s, it attracts many tourists. However, the village faces challenges like floods, termite damage, and intense heat from tin roofs. A significant proportion of elderly residents adds to the community's vulnerability during disasters, especially heat.
